Confirmed: Manchester United’s 23-man training squad before Bodø/Glimt clash
Manchester United’s 23-man training squad were hard at work at Carrington on Wednesday ahead of their Europa League clash against Bodø/Glimt.
Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge of Manchester United ended in a 1-1 draw in the Premier League against Ipswich Town.
The 39-year-old will be hoping to get his first win in the Europa League this week as United face Bodø/Glimt in their fifth game of the new-look league phase.
Currently 15th in the standings, a victory at Old Trafford would push Amorim’s side closer to the automatic qualification spots.
Amorim has already spoken about how important the work on the training pitch will be to help his players understand his formation and demands quicker.
He has been afforded some extra days at Carrington this week and the media were in attendance for the beginning of their session on Wednesday morning.
Who was seen during Man Utd training?
Lisandro Martínez and Harry Maguire were welcomed back to the group after missing some time due to injuries.
However, defensive pairing Leny Yoro and Jonny Evans missed out on the session as they were focusing on recovery work inside the building.
Yoro is yet to make an appearance for the club since signing in the summer and Evans was replaced early in the second half against Ipswich.
16-year-old centre-back Godwill Kukonki was once again included in the session and is likely to be included in the matchday squad on Thursday.
The likes of Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were all involved after returning to the squad last weekend.
Cameras did not pick up the work with the goalkeepers, but it is safe to assume that André Onana, Altay Bayındır, Tom Heaton and U21s shotstopper Dermot Mee were present for the session as no communication has been shared about their absence.
