Kobbie Mainoo’s ‘price’ revealed as Man United starlet’s value skyrockets
Kobbie Mainoo has come to the fore of Manchester United’s midfield in the last few months after stellar performances have seen him graduate into the first team under Erik ten Hag.
While the season so far has had more downs than ups for Manchester United, one huge positive from Erik ten Hag has been the introduction of talented midfield player Kobbie Mainoo into the first-team squad.
Originally making his debut just over one year ago at Old Trafford, Mainoo was part of Ten Hag’s pre-season plans but suffered an unfortunate ankle injury against Real Madrid in July, with the player then being ruled out for five months.

However, great showings against the likes of Newcastle United, Everton, and Wigan Athletic have cemented the 18-year-old’s place among the stars at the club, and his estimated transfer value has skyrocketed as a result.
In November 2022, Mainoo’s value sat at just £257,000, but after his emergence, the CIES Football Observatory now have this sat at around £8.6 million, or €10 million.
This, of course, is a number that is calculated based on experience, contract length, contract wage, and other factors that can affect the value of a player – but of course, United would not accept a bid this low considering Mainoo’s obvious immense talent.
It would be hard to put a number on just how much it would require for United to depart with their latest fantastic Carrington talent, but one would believe it would be reaching into nine figures.
Even once Casemiro and Mason Mount return, Mainoo is expected to continue playing a key role in United’s games for the remainder of the season, with Ten Hag not afraid to use youth when required, with Alejandro Garnacho a perfect example of this.
