Kobbie Mainoo first Man United player since Paul Pogba to complete midfield stat
Kobbie Mainoo is continuing to shine at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, drawing comparisons to Paul Pogba.
Kobbie Mainoo has had a spectacular rise to the Manchester United first team in recent months, with the 18-year-old establishing himself as one of Erik ten Hag‘s first-choice midfielders.
He has been forming a quality partnership with Casemiro in midfield since the Brazilian returned from injury and has started to add a couple of goals to his game, as well.

Mainoo was United’s best player once again as the club defeated Luton Town in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, and he ticked off yet another box with his dribbling.
According to Opta, Kobbie Mainoo completed six dribbles against Luton, which was the most by a United player in a Premier League game since Paul Pogba in April 2022 (7 against Norwich).
They also added that this total was more than all of his teammates combined in the game against Luton (5).
“Kobbie was very mature, and I think he is progressing from game to game,” Ten Hag told reporters after the game.
“Hopefully, the process will keep going on.”
