The former Bayern Munich manager is currently leading the German national team ahead of the upcoming European Championship in the summer, but he wants to have his future confirmed before the tournament.
According to Sky Sports Germany, the 36-year-old manager wants to make a decision on his next club before Euro 2024 – possibly in April or May.
It was added that, ideally, he would hope for an announcement before the tournament as well. He wants to make the decision early and then be able to have complete focus on Germany and ensure that his future is not a topic looming during the tournament.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has remained tight-lipped about Ten Hag’s future when he has spoken to the media. Several ex-players believe that the British billionaire has already made the final decision about the club’s managerial future.
He has already appointed Omar Berrada from Manchester City as the club’s new chief executive, and Dan Ashworth looks set to eventually become the sporting director who will lead the project at Old Trafford.
Other managers linked with the move include Graham Potter, Gareth Southgate, and Thomas Tuchel, among others.
Nagelsmann has managed Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim, as well as the German national team.
