Jonny Evans’ work continues as “unstoppable” Man Utd youngster set for loan move after second starlet suffers two-month injury

One Manchester United youngster could be set for his first loan move away from the club, he could join Enzo Kana-Biyik on loan at Laussane-Sport.

A loan move is always a crucial aspect of a young player’s career, especially at Manchester United, because a successful loan move could help them regain their spot in the first team for the coming season.

Several United youngsters have already moved on loan this summer, including Elyh Harrison, who has joined Shrewsbury Town in League Two to continue his development after a successful six months at Chester last season.

Ethan Wheatley has also moved for the 2025/26 season, joining Northampton Town after he struggled for gametime for Walsall last season. The young striker will be looking to assert himself in League One if he wants a future at Old Trafford.

Also, Harry Amass looks set for a loan after Diego Leon took his spot in Rúben Amorim’s pre-season squad, but this could help the young left-back adapt physically, as bulking up would help him improve his game.

Jonny Evans has been working overtime, in his new role as loan manager, to secure good moves for the young players that need it this summer, allowing Jason Wilcox to focus on the senior team’s incomings and outgoings.

Scanlon set for first loan move

James Scanlon, a promising player who can play as a left winger or as an attacking midfielder, looks set for his first loan move away from Old Trafford after impressing for the under-21s and the under-18s last season.

CentreDevils have reported that the “unstoppable” Scanlon has received interest from Belgium, France and Germany, as well as the EFL, for a loan move this summer, and United “feel a loan move is the best for his career at this stage.”

Another option for Scanlon would be to join INEOS-owned Laussane-Sport in the Swiss top division, joining Enzo Kana-Biyik, who moved there earlier this summer after just signing for the Red Devils.

Many thought that Sekou Kone would move on loan to Laussane, but the Mali international remains at United for the time being, and could become a part of Amorim’s squad next season, especially if Toby Collyer moves on loan.

Kana-Biyik suffers injury setback

Despite playing during pre-season for Lausanne, Kana-Biyik has not featured for the Swiss side in either the Europa Conference League or any domestic games, as he has suffered a setback in training.

Kana-Biyik suffered his injury before Laussane’s Conference League tie against FK Vardar; it was initially said he would miss a couple of weeks, but now the belief is that the striker will be out injured for eight weeks.

The Frenchman suffered a “severe knee sprain” that will keep him out until late September, but this could help Kana-Biyik settle in Switzerland after coming through the Le Havre academy in France.

If Scanlon does join Kana-Biyik, the two could play together in a front three that could eventually be replicated at Old Trafford: Scanlon on the left, with Kana-Biyik spearheading the attack through the middle.
