Jean-Claude Blanc explains INEOS investment plan for Manchester United
Jean-Claude Blanc has opened up on where INEOS plan to invest their money after they were handed sporting control of Manchester United last month.
As part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s investment in Manchester United, INEOS have been handed all sporting control of the Old Trafford club and have installed Jean-Claude Blanc and Sir Dave Brailsford on the footballing board.
Changes have already started to take effect, with Omar Berrada set to join as the club’s new CEO, while Dan Ashworth will take up a role at United once his gardening leave with Newcastle United either expires or is terminated.

Blanc, who has previously worked at clubs such as Juventus and PSG, has recently opened up about INEOS’ investment plans for the club, hinting that they will look to invest in infrastructure rather than players.
“The key is the quality of experience for the fans. We must have the courage to invest in infrastructure rather than in players,” Blanc told French newspaper La Tribune.
“This creates additional income, which allows reinvestment in talent. I started my career following the construction of a temporary stadium for the opening of the Albertville Games. At Juventus, there was the design and construction of a 41,500-seat stadium.
“At PSG, we have worked a lot to effectively renovate the Parc des Princes. At United, we are watching. Old Trafford has been at the forefront for years but is catching up. Modernisation or a new Old Trafford? All options are on the table.
“We see that things are moving a lot. Tottenham have a new stadium. Real Madrid are finishing theirs. Barcelona is working on it. Paris might have one one day.”
