Jadon Sancho has sent praise to one Manchester United teammate who once called him a “massive solution” for the team.

Sancho, 24, was omitted from United’s squad for their Premier League opener against Fulham, which the Reds won 1-0.

The 24-year-old spent the latter part of last season away from the club following a dispute with manager Erik ten Hag. This led to his removal from the squad and a subsequent six-month loan to Borussia Dortmund.

Although Sancho and Ten Hag mended their differences during pre-season, and Sancho rejoined the squad, participating in the pre-season tour and the Community Shield, he remains on the transfer market if a club meets United’s £40 million asking price.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are both reportedly interested in the player. But Sancho’s absence from the matchday squad against Fulham was due to an ear infection during the week before the game.

The winger could still depart the club before the transfer window closes but he was quick to praise one of his United teammates after victory against The Cottagers.

Bruno Fernandes kickstarted the move for the only goal of the game but missed a couple of big chances earlier in the game, something that he apologised to Fantasy Premier League players for.

“Nothing beats the feeling of being back at Old Trafford ❤️,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Ps: fantasy league managers that trust me sorry for yesterday… I will repay you 😅🤦🏻‍♂️”

Sancho took to the comments of the Portuguese midfielder’s post and wrote, “BRUNO! ❤️”

While the winger’s career at Old Trafford appears uncertain, Fernandes has previously explained how he thinks the player could be a “massive solution” for the team.

Speaking after Sancho returned from a break in the 2022/23 campaign, Fernandes said: “He’s [Sancho] been really good. As I said to him, it’s great to have him back because we know he is a massive solution for us, as a starter, as someone to come and have great qualities to help the team.

“We all know the capacity that he [Sancho] has. He hasn’t expressed it at his best yet, he’s been at some moments really good. Obviously, now he is back from a long period, but we are really happy to have him back.”

Sancho could be back in contention for the United squad to travel to Brighton next weekend. While the transfer window closes in just under two weeks’ time.
