“I think…” Manchester United stars describe Bruno Fernandes in one word; Erik ten Hag’s choice is brilliant
Erik ten Hag’s reply is brilliant when he was asked to describe Bruno Fernandes in one word following his Manchester United contract announcement.
On Wednesday evening, Manchester United announced that Bruno Fernandes had put pen to paper on a new three-year contract, committing himself to the club until at least 2027.
Currently the captain under Erik ten Hag, Fernandes is undoubtedly United’s most important player and is set to lead the club in what will be a big season at Old Trafford.

Fernandes has played over 230 times for United in the four and a half years since he joined, scoring 79 goals and providing 67 assists. He is well-loved by his teammates and manager.
This has become once again evident during a short video the club posted on social media, in which they asked Ten Hag, as well as several squad, staff, and fan members, how they would describe Fernandes in one word.
While Rasmus Højlund, Amad Diallo, Harry Maguire, and Alejandro Garnacho chose “Magnifico” or “magic,” others, such as Mason Mount, chose the word “leader.”
Ten Hag, however, went a different route. After deliberation, the Dutchman finally said: “I can’t pick one word to describe Bruno. If I think about Bruno, it’s about brains, passion, family.”
This sums Bruno Fernandes up to perfection. He has been nothing but fantastic for the club since the day he joined, and with his new three-year contract on the table, fans are willing the side to win him a much-deserved Premier League title.
With a new dawn seemingly at United, there is more optimism than ever that the side can once again become one of the best in Europe.
