Jadon Sancho has seemingly aimed a dig at Erik ten Hag following comments surrounding his work ethic during Manchester United training sessions.

Jadon Sancho left Manchester United for Chelsea in the summer of 2024 after three turbulent seasons at the club.

After being signed for Ole Gunnar Solskjær in 2021, the winger failed to hit form and, after periods in and out of the side under Erik ten Hag, the pair fell out and Sancho was banished from the squad, joining Dortmund for six month earlier this year.

Despite eventually rejoining United training in the summer, the winger was ultimately transferred to Chelsea, where he has joined on a season-long loan – although the London club have a mandatory buy clause of around £25 million that activates next summer.

So far, Sancho has scored two goals for his new side and registered five assists in his opening 11 appearances for Enzo Maresca.

Sancho’s Ten Hag dig

While under Ten Hag, reports often came out claiming that the former Dutch manager was unhappy with Sancho’s training levels, with it being said that the 24-year-old did not enjoy his time in training under the Dutchman.

However, in a new interview with Sky Sports, Sancho was insistent that he is really enjoying Chelsea training, seemingly aiming a subtle dig at Ten Hag in the process.

“The players that we have in the squad are top quality so every day in training we’re pushing each other,” he explained.

“Every time we get an opportunity we want to show what we can do and I feel like the team has created a nice bond within the dressing room. I think having all of those combined shows in the performances on the pitch.

“Everyone is similar in age and most of the boys have been playing for quite a while and have a lot of experience. It’s nice to be in and around the group and the training is fun.

“Everyone’s got a smile on their face and everyone’s pushing each other to do extras and that’s what we need.”
