Manchester United’s strained relationship with one of Rúben Amorim’s squad members is viewed as a transfer advantage by Inter Milan.
Jadon Sancho is a player deemed surplus to requirements for Ruben Amorim’s 2025/26 squad, and is exploring a move away from the club.
Sancho has been attracting heavy interest from Italian sides, as the asking price Manchester United have set is suitable for clubs in the Serie A.
The 25-year-old joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a hefty fee of £73 million, bringing great expectations to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Sancho has failed to meet the standards set for him and will leave United this year for a loss, or run his contract down until it expires in 2026.
Now reports suggest Inter Milan have entered the race for Sancho, who aims to strengthen their Champions League final side from last season.
Inter see United-Sancho situation as an advantage
The relationship between Sancho and the club has turned sour, with manager Amorim and the team opting to loan the winger out to Premier League rivals Chelsea for the previous season.
Sancho’s wages are a burden for the Reds, as the player earns a reported £350,000 per week, including bonuses at United, which also deters potential suitors for Sancho.
According to La Gazette dello Sport, Inter views the situation with United as a potential advantage in negotiations with the Reds, as the club is eager to offload Sancho and has set his value at around £17 million.
Inter may look to pursue Sancho if other options are deemed impossible to secure, with the Italian side in talks with Ademola Lookman and Christopher Nkunku.
It is also noted that Inter do not feel they would have any issues gaining a green light from the player for a possible move.
The Nerazzurri face competition from fellow Serie A sides Roma, Napoli, and Juventus, who are also rumoured to be interested in Sancho.
United keen to move Sancho on
With the summer transfer window closing in less than a month, United are looking to raise funds to secure the club’s last transfer targets for this window.
Sancho is a player with a high value, and therefore is regarded as a necessary outgoing this summer to raise funds for targets Carlos Baleba and a potential goalkeeper signing, too.

As previously stated, United have set Sancho’s asking price at around £25 million, which would be a substantial loss, underscoring the club’s stance on Sancho.
As deadline day looms near, the Reds will be hoping to know the future of Sancho sooner rather than later, whether with a departure to Inter or another European club.
