What INEOS told Bruno Fernandes during crunch Man United talks last week
Representatives of Manchester United and Bruno Fernandes met last week to discuss the player’s future and the club’s ambition.
Bruno Fernandes is the first name that many United fans think of when asked who should be in Erik ten Hag’s starting XI. The Portuguese playmaker is paramount to any success that The Reds hope to obtain and has easily been the best player since his arrival in 2020.
Having missed just 14 games in his four years at Old Trafford so far the midfielder proudly wears the captain’s armband and is an unwavering servant for the club and neither side are eager to end their relationship.
It is being reported by David Ornstein that Fernandes and his entourage met with INEOS director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford, United’s technical director Jason Wilcox and head of football negotiations Matt Hargreaves to discuss his future.
This meeting comes after reports stating that Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and teams from the Saudi Pro League will look to tempt Fernandes away from Manchester in the summer, and it has been said that if the fee is big enough, the club would look into selling their star man.
Being the top player that he is, United’s No. 8 is said to want to play in the highest level of competition possible, the Champions League, and be part of a successful team.
According to Ornstein, this was a central topic during the meeting at Carrington and the aforementioned representing United reiterated the importance of the 29-year-old in INEOS’ plans to bring success to the club.
Both parties left the meeting feeling satisfied that their questions were answered and that they were all on the same page in terms of their ambitions for the club.
However, it is said that Fernandes wants to see evidence of this, and if he is dissatisfied with their vision, both the player and the club will accept a move away if the price is right.
A world without Bruno being the creative heart of the Manchester United attack would feel incredibly strange. Fortunately for United fans, this crunch meeting seems to have assured the talisman and a move away from Old Trafford doesn’t seem to be coming any time soon.
