One Chelsea star has sent a clear message to Ruben Amorim after the Portuguese manager moved to Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim became Manchester United’s new head coach at the beginning of November and is now approaching his first game in charge.

After working with the players at Carrington this week, the 39-year-old will lead them out to face Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.

The Portuguese head coach made his name with his successes at Sporting and has received a message of support from his countryman Pedro Neto.

Neto moved to Chelsea in the summer from Wolves and has explained why he wishes the best for Amorim–barring his games against the Blues.

He is excited to see the ‘greatness’ from Portugal be shown on the biggest stage in the Premier League after Amorim decided to make the bold decision to leave table-topping Sporting to test himself in the best league in the world.

“It’s a sign that the Portuguese are working very well. It’s a sign that both players and coaches have produced a great batch and of great quality,” explained Neto, as per NoticiasOminuto.

“Above all, and as I said before in the national team, I wish Ruben all the best, except against Chelsea.

“I think he is a Portuguese product showing the quality he has. It is also the Portuguese spirit and I hope it continues like this.

“We are a small country, but we show our greatness based on these values and both as people and as professionals of the Portuguese people.”

United recently faced Chelsea at Old Trafford in a 1-1 draw during Ruud van Nistelrooy’s interim spell in charge.

Amorim will not face Neto’s side until towards the end of the season in May, unless they meet in the FA Cup.
