Rúben Amorim has confirmed a recent report from Fabrizio Romano ahead of Manchester United’s fixture against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
Ruben Amorim has only been given two first-team signings at Manchester United, and both have proved that with more of his own players, United will improve.
Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu was the more senior signing, despite being just 20 years old, and has made an instant impact on the starting 11. Not only has he impressed on the left-hand side, but he has shown he’s also capable of playing on the right, which could be necessary with Diogo Dalot’s injury news.
Ayden Heaven was the other January signing, joining from Arsenal, following his former and current Chido Obi. Heaven has also impressed, especially against Leicester City, before he was forced off due to injury.
More of Amorim’s own signings will help United improve drastically. This is even more important with the unique 3-4-3 system that the Portuguese manager has deployed.
The Red Devils must look to get signings done early so Amorim can use them in pre-season, and he appears to agree.
Amorim confirms Romano report
Speaking in United’s pre-match press conference for the away fixture against Bournemouth, Amorim was asked about the importance of completing deals early in the transfer window.
Amorim said, “I could say this is a conversation for the end of the season… but I have an idea that is clear because we need to do things early.”
This confirms Romano’s mid-week report, where the transfer expert stated on his YouTube channel, “My understanding is that Manchester United will push to get this deal done soon in the market.
“I don’t expect Cunha to be one of the cases we are discussing in July/August… I think Man United will try to be fast.”
Matheus Cunha looks almost nailed on to join United, and Amorim agrees that the earlier it is done, the better.
Delap and Biyak could join after Cunha
In addition to Cunha, United will aim to finalise more deals as quickly as possible so that the new signings can participate in pre-season.
Liam Delap appears to be another concrete option for United, perhaps becoming the Red Devils’ starting striker for the start of the season if he joins early enough.
Completing Delap’s deal will be key to securing his signature, given his strong connections to other Premier League clubs, particularly Chelsea.
Enzo Kaya Biyik is another name United fans should keep an eye on, Romano has recently reported that talks have begun but it is not advanced just yet.
Other reports have suggested that he will be loaned out to INEOS-owned Laussane, but if he is signed early enough, he could be tested in pre-season before his loan move.
