“I can guarantee…” – Fabrizio Romano explains shock Victor Osimhen twist as Manchester United verdict given

Fabrizio Romano has explained the latest twist in the race for Victor Osimhen while Manchester United’s stance has also been revealed.

Manchester United have made an encouraging start to the summer transfer window, securing the early arrival of Matheus Cunha and actively working on a deal for Bryan Mbeumo.

While those two signings could significantly strengthen United in the No.10 positions, the urgent need for a true centre-forward remains.

Rasmus Højlund appeared out of his depth for much of last season, and Joshua Zirkzee, though talented, often looks more comfortable operating from a slightly deeper role.

Several strikers have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but among the fanbase, the standout favourites seem to be Viktor Gyökeres and Victor Osimhen.

Romano explains shock Osimhen twist

With a deal for Gyökeres looking unlikely now, the clear standout option is Osimhen, and it was recently explained how he rejected huge money from Al-Hilal before the Club World Cup.

Despite this, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the Saudi Pro League side are still interested in signing Osimhen and are willing to try again for a deal. Rumours elsewhere he suggested they will offer him over £800,000-per-week.

“My understanding is that Al-Hilal are still not giving up on Victor Osimhen, they have not left conversations,” the Italian reporter explained on his YouTube channel.

“Al-Hilal remain interested in Osimhen and attentive to the situation. Al-Hilal believe that other clubs can’t compare their financial proposal to Victor Osimhen and this is why they want to try.

“Despite the rejection from the player to play the Club World Cup with them, they had an agreement with Napoli and want to try again on the player side.

“But I can also guarantee you today that the intention of Galatasaray is to try but also Al-Hilal are not giving up, they are still there and offering big money.”

United’s stance on Osimhen

United are in a position where they can not meet Osimhen’s wage demands, but it has been reported that they recently re-opened talks with the striker’s camp.

Those same reports claim that Osimhen is wanting around £400,000-per-week and that is something that won’t be offered from the Reds.

Some clubs, including those in Saudi, will be willing to cough up the cash for the Nigerian striker but things could get interesting if he decides that he wants to remain in Europe and play in the top five leagues.

Even if the Reds attempt to move forward with a deal, it feels unlikely to be solved until the final days of the window.
