Harry Amass will make his latest transfer decision following a brilliant start to the season with Sheffield Wednesday.
Manchester United sent Harry Amass on loan at the beginning of the season after he missed out on Rúben Amorim’s pre-season squad.
Diego Leon took Amass’ place as Patrick Dorgu’s understudy, but since the start of the season, Leon has been a regular for United’s U21S, while Amass has been flying in the Championship.
Despite Sheffield Wednesday’s struggles both on the pitch and behind the scenes, Amass has registered one goal and one assist from left-wing-back, with some appearances on the right flank too.
Wednesday currently sit 24th in the Championship on minus seven points, almost 30 points behind the team in 23rd and 32 points off the safe spots outside the relegation zone.
Leaving the club could be the best option for Amass, but where does he go: back to Old Trafford or on another loan?
Amass makes January transfer call
Despite defensive injuries at Old Trafford – Matthjis de Ligt and Harry Maguire have been out for several matches – United will not recall Amass, as reported by Samuel Luckhurst of The Sun.
As such, Amass has been handed a tough decision. Stoke City, who sit 9th in the Championship after 25 matches, are looking for a new left-back to bolster their promotion push.
The report states Amass is ‘considering’ a January switch to Stoke, but he hasn’t made a final verdict just yet.
Another loan move could help Amass push for a spot in Amorim’s side next season, but the left-back may not want to stay at Old Trafford after Amorim’s recent comments, accusing Amass of “entitlement”.
United must help Amass
Despite Amorim’s recent comments, Amass could yet become a key man at Old Trafford, especially if Amorim continues with a back three system – Amass is tailor-made for the left-wing-back role.

While Amass is “considering” moving to Stoke, it should be United who makes the final decision, although not without Amass’ thoughts.
The young defender is shining at Sheffield Wednesday, but a loan at a better side could push his development further, making him more ready for the Premier League next season.
United must also think about the futures of the left-back talents in the academy system, including Leon, Dante Plunkett and Godwill Kukonki.
