Getafe believe Real Madrid star is Mason Greenwood’s replacement in new transfer hint
According to a new report from Spain, Getafe believe they have identified a replacement for Mason Greenwood, effectively ruling out his transfer from Manchester United.
Mason Greenwood‘s future is set to become one of the biggest talking points surrounding Manchester United this summer as INEOS look to raise funds.
Reports from last month have explained that selling Greenwood has become the club’s No. 1 priority this summer as they look to gather money to improve Erik ten Hag‘s squad.

After Greenwood was initially charged with allegations of domestic abuse, he was barred from playing for United, pending investigation. The CPS eventually dropped the case, but after United looked into the matter internally, they concluded that it was better for the English winger to recommence his career elsewhere.
They were originally thought to want to bring him back to Old Trafford, but once this information was leaked, fan pressure forced them to change their mind.
He then went on loan to La Liga club Getafe, where he has enjoyed a profitable season, playing 36 times and scoring 10 goals while providing a further six assists.
Although initially Getafe wanted to make the move permanent, it seems they have now effectively ruled out the possibility of signing him from United by identifying a replacement – Real Madrid’s latest young sensation, Arda Güler.
This is according to the Spanish paper AS, which claims that Getafe has earmarked the 19-year-old Turkish attacker as the man they want to bring in to replace Greenwood as they cannot afford United’s asking price of £35-45 million.
They state, “The Englishman will not return to Getafe,” adding that he will be sold this summer. Reports in the last week have indicated that Juventus is the front-runner for his signature.
