Getafe head coach addresses Mason Greenwood loan for first time
Getafe CF head coach, José Bordalás, has addressed the loan signing of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.
After Mason Greenwood was suspended by Manchester United for 18 months, initially in January 2022, it was recently decided after fan pressure that the forward would depart from the club.
Although it was reported that Erik ten Hag was willing to allow Greenwood back into his squad, ultimately, it was decided that he would leave the club, with Richard Arnold addressing the fans.

The decision resulted in Greenwood signing for Spanish side Getafe CF, and their head coach addressed the signing after their 2-1 loss against Real Madrid on Saturday.
“It’s too delicate a subject to treat lightly,” said Bordalás. “Everyone knows what happened and the appropriate measures were taken. We can only talk about football, obviously. The relevant bodies did what had to be done.
“Everyone knows what happened and that it ended with a sentence that did not find him guilty. He’s a footballer of an extremely high level and he arrives at Getafe with huge enthusiasm. We will try to help him to get back to his best level.
“I can only talk about it in footballing terms. We all know the potential he has. He is a very young boy, he is still only 21, and we hope that he can adapt to a very different league.
“We all know the potential he has and if physically he can get back – and I am sure of that – he will want to recover the professional status he had and Getafe can help him to do so.”
