Gary Neville fumes at Man United, with Erik ten Hag’s team labelled “one of the worst…”
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has slammed his former club for their “horrible performance” against Brentford.
Despite managing a 1-1 draw against Brentford, and scoring what looked like a winning goal in the 96th minute, United would fail to see out the result, capitulating in a flash.
It was a whirlwind end to a game, one that summed up United’s entire night. A performance that has left INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe furious, a feeling that is replicated by Neville.

Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast, Neville stated the following regarding United’s dismal display against Brentford.
“I watched them last night and couldn’t believe really what I was watching. I thought they would put a bit of pressure on Tottenham and [Aston] Villa in the run-in. It’s actually really difficult to play that badly.
“Really, it is, you know. I can’t think of any point in that game, maybe the first few minutes, where they did anything well at all.
“It was a horrible performance to the point where when Mason Mount scored, I think we may have had to start a petition to give Brentford two points back. It was an absolute robbery. But then Brentford scored.
“I can’t explain that performance – I’ve no idea where it came from. Very worrying that you can go to that level of low. You know you can play badly in football, you know you sometimes don’t feel quite right.”
Continuing, Neville explains that he feels United are “one of the worst teams” when out of possession – which is a key measure of success in the Premier League.
“But that was a dismal, dismal effort in an attempt to play football, in an attempt to work as hard as you possibly can. When you give the ball away, their reaction is non-existent. They really are one of the worst teams out of possession.”
United’s failure to beat Brentford leaves the club with just fifteen wins from twenty-nine games this season. Additionally, the club have a goal difference of zero, with just eleven games left of the league season.
