Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher in complete agreement over Manchester United vs Tottenham result
Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher both agree that Manchester United should beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Following a disappointing 1-1 draw against FC Twente in the Europa League, Manchester United are returning to Premier League action as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag‘s team has not started the league season well, having won just two of their opening five fixtures and scoring only five goals.

Tottenham, however, have not faired any better. They have also won two of their opening five games and are sitting level with United on seven points, only edging them out due to their superior goal difference.
United’s positive heading into the tie is that, in their last league fixture, they played well against Crystal Palace despite the 0-0 scoreline. Speaking on the latest Stick to Football episode, both Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher agreed that United should win the game.
“I think Man United are winning that game,” Neville explained to his co-hosts Carragher, Roy Keane, and Ian Wright.
“They struggle to score goals, Man United, but I just think Sunday, it will be a good atmosphere, and Tottenham is always a good game at Old Trafford. I will go 2-1 Man United.”
Carragher agreed, adding: “2-1 Man United – when you start to say Man United played well away at Palace and they drew 0-0, it’s like ‘Oh my God’.”
Neville added: “Shall we raise them and go 3-1? (after Roy Keane and Ian Wright predicted that result) I think we will get a third goal late on,” to which Carragher replied: “Yeah, let’s go for it.”
A win against Tottenham at Old Trafford would do a lot to raise the spirits of those at Old Trafford, with many becoming frustrated at the lack of goals and positive results so far this season.
Beyond a 7-0 win against Barnsley, United have looked far from convincing in the opening six weeks of the campaign.
Even their 3-0 win against Southampton two weeks ago may have turned drastically different had André Onana not saved a penalty moments before Matthijs de Ligt’s opening goal.
