Sources: Gareth Southgate still not liked within Manchester United despite reports
Despite reports claiming that Gareth Southgate is a “top target” for INEOS, UtdDistrict can reveal that he is still not liked by those within Manchester United.
The managerial rumour merry-go-round at Manchester United is continuing to murmur, with Erik ten Hag‘s future at Old Trafford far from certain following poor results.
A 1-1 draw against Burnley was recently followed by a shocking 4-0 loss against Crystal Palace, and this has thrown the Dutchman’s position into further doubt, with potential replacements being named.

Reports on Tuesday evening claimed that current England boss Gareth Southgate has been made a top target by the club. They further claimed that United bosses are convinced that Southgate is the right coach for the overhaul.
However, UtdDistrict reiterates that, within the club, Southgate is not the preferred choice.
Opinion within United
Although reports state that Southgate is INEOS’s preferred choice, this is not a view shared by all within Old Trafford.
In keeping with information from last month, UtdDistrict understands that despite rumours that Gareth Southgate is high on INEOS’ potential manager list, the England manager is not liked by some within the club—this does not include those related to INEOS.
Ten Hag’s comments
“I will keep fighting,” A clearly passionate Ten Hag said following the defeat against Crystal Palace. “I prepared the team in the best way I could do and it was not good enough, by far not good enough.
“I have to take the responsibility for that, but I will find the energy, and I will prepare them for Sunday’s game.”
