Gareth Southgate issues double Man United injury update ahead of England clash
Gareth Southgate has issued a double injury update on Manchester United pair Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire ahead of England’s friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
England will be without Manchester United duo Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire on Monday evening at St. George’s Park training ground as they take on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Shaw and Maguire both missed Erik ten Hag‘s final few fixtures of the season, including the triumphant FA Cup win over Manchester City at Wembley Stadium, but both were called up to England’s preliminary 2024 European Championship squad.

Maguire and Shaw have both been integral to Gareth Southgate’s England teams over the last few tournaments, so it stands to reason that both were given a space in the squad despite their injury issues.
Maguire is expected to be fit in time for England’s first game of the tournament against Serbia on 16 June, but Shaw’s availability is doubtful.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday afternoon, Southgate was asked for the latest on Shaw, Maguire, and Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon.
“All are progressing well, so we’re pleased with the progress they’ve made,” he replied. “None of them will be involved tomorrow.
“Same tomorrow for Bukayo (Saka), and probably the same tomorrow for John Stones. Everybody else will be involved.”
When asked if he could provide any more specific information about Shaw, Maguire, and Gordon, he said, “Not really. Well, I mean, they’re all progressing well.
“What can I tell you? I think Antony has a good chance to be available for Friday (against Iceland). The other two (Shaw and Maguire), that’s a little bit more unlikely, but we’ll just see how quickly they can go, really.”
