“First formal contact” – Manchester United approached for Donny van de Beek
Manchester United have been approached for Erik ten Hag castaway Donny van de Beek after another disappointing season.
Donny van de Beek‘s time at Manchester United has been one that has not lived up to expectations after signing in the summer of 2020.
Putting pen to paper on his contract under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, he scored on his debut against Crystal Palace and generally excited fans with his style, however, he was not granted consistent game time.

In the season that followed, he was once again limited of game time under Solskjær and Ralf Rangnick, and in his third season, this time under Erik ten Hag, an injury in January ruled him out for the season.
The Dutch midfielder scored against Lyon in pre-season and put in an impressive performance, but has been put on the transfer list by the club, who have now been approached for the player.
This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Real Sociedad approached United on Tuesday for Donny van de Beek.
This represents the first formal contact between the two clubs after initial talks were started on the player’s side last week.
It is said that the two clubs are now in dialogue as to the “formula” of the deal, which will depend on what United decide is acceptable – an agreement on a transfer fee is yet to be reached.
