Erik Ten Hag hopes to give the Glazers ‘advice’ in the USA amid takeover saga

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag commented on potentially meeting with the Glazers in the US as he hopes to give advice and recommendations to the club.
Manchester United‘s takeover saga involving the current owners, the Glazers, Qatari billionaire, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the British business tycoon Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has been going on for ages now.
Amidst protests over the years, the Glazers finally announced in November 2022 that they are willing to sell the club and put United on the market. Since then, the potential buyers list has come down to two top candidates.
However, even after months of putting the club on the market, the Glazers are yet to take a decision regarding the future of the English giants.
United manager, Erik Ten Hag had his say on the ongoing takeover saga at a press conference in New Jersey. The Dutchman was asked if he would want to speak to the Glazers given that the team is in the US right now for their pre-season tour.
Ten Hag said that he hasn’t been in contact with the club’s American owners so insisted that it is a good opportunity for him to finally meet them and seek clarity in the process. The former Ajax boss also added that he could talk to them informally and give some ideas and recommendations.
“This is a good opportunity to share ideas and we can talk informally. It is obvious I can give advice and recommendations but the decision is on the club.”
Manchester United will take on Premier League rivals Arsenal as a part of their pre season on July 22. The Red Devils have previously won their last two club friendlies with Donny van de Beek scoring on his return in United’s last game, against Lyon.
