Facundo Pellistri’s agent provides full statement on Man United and slams Erik ten Hag
The agent of Facundo Pellistri has warned Manchester United that if Erik ten Hag remains at the club, his client may not.
Pellistri, 22, has struggled for game time at United for the entirety of his time at the Manchester side, remaining a rarely-seen name in the match-day squad.
Pellistri has made just one Premier League start since signing for the club in late 2020, with Ten Hag offering him that opportunity earlier this season against Crystal Palace.
Despite trusting Pellistri to start the game, Ten Hag was unimpressed by the winger’s performance, using his first substitution to remove the Urugyan international for Alejandro Garnacho.
Since that match in late September, Pellistri picked up just 81 minutes of league action in 5 appearances at United, and has now found himself loaned out to Spanish side Granada.
Speaking in Spanish about Pellistri’s exit from the club, his agent Edgardo Lasalvia, told Sport 890:
“Whether he returns to Manchester in the middle of the year will depend on the performance he shows. If Ten Hag continues, it’s going to be difficult. Ten Hag hasn’t used him, valued him, or treated him like a professional.”
The words of Pellistri’s agent will remind many fans of United of the reports that came out following Jadon Sancho’s infamous public outburst at Ten Hag.
Sancho publicly slammed Ten Hag in a social media post, as well as labelling himself a ‘scapegoat’.
Then, in the weeks after Ten Hag banished him from the squad, reports emerged that Sancho felt an apology would not change his situation with Ten Hag and that he believed the Dutchman would continue to favour other personnel.
Sancho, now like Pellistri, finds himself on loan, with a permanent exit looking particularly likely if Ten Hag remains in charge at the club.
