Casemiro is looking for his next club after announcing his departure from Manchester United at the end of the season.
In January, Casemiro confirmed that he would be leaving Manchester United when his current contract expired at the end of the season, despite a clause that could’ve seen him stay if he featured in every match until the end of the campaign.
An early report following his announcement hinted that he could be returning to his first professional club, Sao Paulo, as a current player asked him to return, but that does not appear to be the case.
In fact, it seems as if Casemiro will stay in Europe, with a report stating he still feels he can compete at a “high level”.
Italy was cited as a potential destination for the five-time Champions League winner, as a reunion with Luka Modric at AC Milan was mentioned.
The truth behind AC Milan move revealed
Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube Channel, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto stated that AC Milan are not considering Casemiro as a real option for the summer.
“As of now, [Casemiro] isn’t a candidate for the Rossoneri,” he said. “AC Milan have other objectives, other priorities, and are looking at other transfer market situations. I wouldn’t pursue this option at this time.”
Romano also spoke on the situation. He said: “Links from England with Italian clubs, with AC Milan and more.
“I can guarantee that Casemiro has still not decided anything. Casemiro will take his time. He will take some weeks, some months to decide the best option possible.
“He has Saudi [interest] for sure. Saudi clubs have tried to sign Casemiro for the last two years, but they couldn’t reach an agreement not just with the player, but with Manchester United.”

Should Ugarte play with Casemiro’s exit?
With Casemiro confirmed to be leaving, it would make sense for Manuel Ugarte to play more games between now and the end of the season, especially considering Carrick likes him.
In the pre-match press conference for the Crystal Palace match, Carrick said: “I like Manuel a lot. He’s been terrific around the group and hugely impressed with his attitude and how he goes about it and his training qualities.
“He’s got a lot of really good attributes, Manuel. I think that when the team is winning, there’s obviously a big upside to that. And there’s always one or two boys that maybe haven’t played so much.”
Ugarte could also leave United in the summer, especially if he doesn’t see a good amount of game time before the end of the season.
The Uruguay international impressed under Darren Fletcher, but has yet to play many minutes under Carrick.
