Fabrizio Romano reveals immediate change Ruben Amorim is planning at Manchester United
Fabrizio Romano has revealed one immediate change that Ruben Amorim is planning to make at Manchester United.
Ruben Amorim arrived at Manchester United on Monday afternoon to start his new role as head coach at Old Trafford.
He was greeted at the Carrington training complex by Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth, who are all in charge of the footballing operations at the club.
There has been questions over how long it may take the new head coach to implement his ideal formation and game-plan. Some had suggested that he may start with a back four formation.
However, Fabrizio Romano revealed in his latest YouTube video that Amorim will in fact be introducing his new 3-4-3 shape immediately at United.
“Ruben Amorim will want some time to work with the team on the pitch, [to show them the] tactical point of view and many notions to tell them about what he wants to do.
“He wants to bring something different, playing with a back three, so it’s going to be very different at Manchester United and he wants to invest his time in that.
This is something that Amorim also suggested himself in his final press conference as Sporting manager on the weekend.
Speaking to the media after his team’s dramatic 4-2 comeback win against his former side Braga, Amorim insisted that he will have to start with a familiar structure when he starts at Old Trafford.
“I know how I am going to play in the beginning because you have to start with a structure that you know. We don’t have a lot of time to train, so I have to show something that I know very well,” he said.
Amorim has only played with a back three formation in his managerial career, which highly suggests that this change is going to come immediately at United.
His first game comes in just under two weeks time against Ipswich Town away from home in the Premier League.
