Fabrizio Romano dispels Manchester United transfer rumour, “a lot of noise” but no offers on table
Fabrizio Romano has dispelled a transfer rumour involving one Manchester United star this summer.
The Reds signed Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui earlier this month as two key defensive signings while letting Aaron Wan-Bissaka go.
Having already brought in Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee earlier this summer, United are now focused on reinforcing their midfield.
Manuel Ugarte is the preferred choice to strengthen the midfield at Old Trafford, and a transfer is looking likely after confirmation that the club have agreed to sell Scott McTominay.
Napoli’s £25 million bid for the Scottish midfielder has been accepted, and that deal could help with the Ugarte situation.
Meanwhile, the club are open to selling Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who has not appeared in the opening two Premier League fixtures for Ten Hag’s side.
However, despite rumours linking him to a variety of clubs in recent weeks, Fabrizio Romano has clarified that no offers have been made for the 32-year-old.
“For Eriksen, it will depend on the proposals. A lot of rumours, a lot of stories,” the Italian reporter told GiveMeSport.
“But from what I heard, there is still no bid on Manchester United’s table. They have not received any formal approach from any club.
“Let’s see if someone will arrive with a good proposal for Eriksen, and if that proposal is quite attractive for the player, that could be the case otherwise [that he will leave].
“At the moment, the situation is still quiet from what I’m hearing, so it will depend on proposals. But again, a lot of noise, but still no bids on the table.”
