Erik ten Hag hints at XI change vs Brentford and confirms Manchester United injury
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Manchester United will be without Sergio Reguilón as he hints at a selection decision against Brentford.
Manchester United will continue to be without a recognised left-back as Sergio Reguilón, alongside both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, continues to be unavailable for selection by Erik ten Hag.
Despite training on Friday morning, Ten Hag confirmed in his recent press conference that the Spanish defender will not be available to play against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
When asked if Reguilón is ready to play, Ten Hag said “not for tomorrow,” which confirms that the Spanish defender will only be available when club football returns after the international break.
Sofyan Amrabat will likely continue to play on the left side of defence despite experiencing issues against Galatasaray on Tuesday evening.
However, the Dutch manager also hinted that he may bring Antony back into the starting XI after the Brazilian winger returned to his squad last week.
Antony has been away from Carrington as he fights allegations of abuse by his former girlfriend, but after cooperating with the police investigation both in Brazil and the United Kingdom, he was brought back to the team.
“I think he’s ready for a start,” Ten Hag said about Antony when asked if the Brazilian will be available on Friday afternoon.
Jadon Sancho continues to remain absent from the squad after his fallout with Erik ten Hag at the beginning of September.
