Erik ten Hag hints at Jadon Sancho return ahead of Reading FA Cup fixture
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Jadon Sancho could be available to face Reading as Manchester United enter the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Jadon Sancho has not featured for Manchester United since the club’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea back in October, with the winger embarking on a rehabilitation program after suffering personal problems.
Erik ten Hag has been brilliant so far with his handling of Sancho, designing a month-long ‘getaway’ type camp for him in the Netherlands before slowly integrating him back into the first team fold over the last few weeks.
Sancho has been back in first team training for the last two weeks now, with United fans eager to see the player running on the Old Trafford turf once again.

“He is training with the team, and we will see, so he’s improving, he’s making steps, and we will make the decision after training,” Ten Hag said in his pre-match press conference when asked on if Sancho will be involved against Reading.
“I said he’s on the way back, he’s making steps, he’s back in team training, and we have to see when he’s ready to go back into games.”
Speaking further on squad rotation and availability, Ten Hag said: “We have always issues, but I think tomorrow we will have a strong selection for this game, we have a good squad, we can cover things.”
Jadon Sancho played a very important part in the opening weeks of Ten Hag’s first season at Manchester United, scoring multiple goals during the club’s pre-season tour and chipping in with a few more during the opening games of the season.
There is little doubt that if Ten Hag can get the Englishman firing once again, he could become a formidable part of Manchester United’s short and long-term future.
