“Very short…” – Erik ten Hag delivers Man United lineup hint vs Crystal Palace
Erik ten Hag has delivered a Manchester United lineup hint ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace this weekend.
The Reds head to Selhurst Park on Saturday evening, aiming to continue their positive form against Crystal Palace.
Erik ten Hag’s team has secured consecutive victories, beating Southampton 3-0 and Barnsley 7-0, after a shaky start to the Premier League season.
However, Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace will present a tougher challenge. Although Palace have yet to win in the league this season, they remain a dangerous side.
Ten Hag delivers Man Utd lineup hint
After rotating his side heavily in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening, Ten Hag is expected to produce a strong lineup in South London.
However, new signing Manuel Ugarte is still getting used to his surroundings after moving from PSG in the summer. He has played two games so far.
However, Ten Hag has claimed that the 23-year-old remains “very short” in training and has many aspects to go through in the coming weeks.
“He is a player very short in some sessions, now he has a start and has also come in as a sub[stitute],” Ten Hag told reporters during his pre-match press conference.
“He still is in the process of coming into the club, he has to come into the team and know the game-model, the principles and what are the rules.
“[Get to] know his teammates and especially know, with his profile, what he can contribute to the team.
“We are in that process and that will take some time but it will come in a natural way. You can already see, when he is fulfilling the process, he will be a very good player for us.”
This may suggest that a start away at Palace, which is known to be a difficult ground, could be too soon for Ugarte, who may come off the bench instead.
The full team news will be confirmed at 16:15 BST tomorrow afternoon.
