Manchester United injury news vs Crystal Palace as Erik ten Hag given “very good news”
Erik ten Hag has explained he has “very good news” as Manchester United prepare to face Crystal Palace in the fifth game of the Premier League season.
Manchester United are heading to London in red-hot form, scoring ten goals across their last two outings. Erik ten Hag‘s men cruised past Southampton in the Premier League last weekend, followed by a dominant 7-0 victory over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup third round.
Up next, they return to Premier League action with a trip to face Crystal Palace. The Eagles are winless and sit 16th in the table, struggling to find momentum in the competition.

However, Ten Hag will be wary of Selhurst Park, where his side suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat late in the 2023/24 season, one of the most disappointing moments of his tenure.
A big reason behind this grotesque loss was the injury crisis, with United fielding a back four of Diogo Dalot, Casemiro, Jonny Evans, and an out-of-position Aaron Wan-Bissaka – but this time round, United have a much healthier squad.
While some injury concerns remain, Ten Hag welcomed Rasmus Højlund and Mason Mount back to first-team training on Thursday afternoon and spoke about the duo’s return.
“It’s very good news,” the Dutch manager said in his pre-match press conference. “They are back on the pitch, they are back in team training and, yeah, we have to decide whether they are fit enough to start. But I think it’s very pleasing they are back with the squad.”
Further, he explained that the medical staff would monitor their recovery and decide on both players on Friday.
“We have so many games also in this block to cover, so yeah, very happy. They did a couple of training [sessions]. We will have to see how they recover, and then, tomorrow, we will make a final call.”
Reports have since confirmed that Højlund is part of the squad that has travelled to South London, hinting that he may be able to get his first competitive minutes of the season following his injury.
Meanwhile, the club also confirmed that four players are set to miss out on the tie: defensive quadrant Victor Lindelöf, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, and Leny Yoro.
Manuel Ugarte made his first start and appearance at Old Trafford during mid-week and played 60 minutes, impressing the fans of his new club following a £42 million move from Paris St. Germain.
