Manchester United‘s Sunday afternoon went from despair to glory as they fought back to defeat Liverpool 4-3 in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, Erik ten Hag made sure to praise Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who came in at the last minute after an injury to Jonny Evans on Saturday.
“Yesterday, Jonny Evans got injured really at the last moment,” he revealed. “We had to adapt and bring in a player who hadn’t trained with the team for 3 or 4 weeks, and he was fantastic, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.”
This may come as a surprise to some, as Wan-Bissaka caused United to lose the ball for Mohammed Salah’s goal following intense pressure from the Liverpool front line.
Ten Hag also went on to praise his captain Bruno Fernandes, who played the full 120 minutes despite showing clear signs of injury towards the end of the fixture
“Bruno Fernandes is criticized because he is emotional, but he is an inspiration to everyone,” he said. “He leads by example, he gives everything, he reads the game, he coaches the players, he keeps running, to fight for the team and for the badge.
