“Beautiful message…” – Diogo Dalot reveals what video Ruud van Nistelrooy played in Man United dressing room
Diogo Dalot has revealed what video Ruud van Nistelrooy played in the Manchester United dressing room this week, describing it as a ‘beautiful message’ for the team.
Manchester United made the decision to sack Erik ten Hag at the beginning of this week after a poor start to the season.
The Reds currently sit 14th in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League. They have decided that Ruben Amorim will be the next man to take the reigns.
However, he will not be departing Sporting Lisbon until the 11 November, following the final games before the international break, meaning that Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain in interim charge for the next three games.
The former United striker was in the hot-seat for the impressive 5-2 win against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and the hope is that he can continue winning until Amorim joins.
His job is not necessarily to teach a new tactical style–he only has three fixtures–but instead to boost the moral of the squad and get them enjoying being on the pitch again.
At United, perhaps the best way to do this is shine a light on the impact of the fanbase, particularly those at Old Trafford. Van Nistelrooy will be managing four games in a row at the Theatre of Dreams.
Diogo Dalot, who started the game against The Foxes, has revealed that Van Nistelrooy played a video of the Old Trafford crowd singing, ‘We’ve Seen It All, We’ve Won The Lot!’.
The Portuguese defender described it as a ‘beautiful message’ that must be ‘key’ for the squad going forwards for the rest of the season and beyond.
“Fans recognise that he’s a football legend, but also a Man United legend,” Dalot told Sky Sports about the interim boss. “This passion that he brings, not just now in an interim role but also when he was assistant.
“I can share this with you, before the game he showed us a video where the fans were signing a beautiful song in my opinion but a song that describes this club and the fans.
“The one where they say, ‘We’ve seen it all, we’ve won the lot, we’re Man United and we’re never gonna stop’.
“And that’s a beautiful message to us because even though this club has won everything, even though they’ve seen everything, they still want more and they still want to fight for more and go through everything.
“So, this is the key message for now and for the future that we need to look forward with good energy, together with the fans, and we can make the best out of the season.”
United’s next clash comes on Sunday afternoon at their home ground against Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.
