Gianluca Di Marzio names Manchester United’s Victor Osimhen price
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has named the price Manchester United would have to pay in order to secure the signing of Victor Osimhen.
Victor Osimhen was named as one of five attackers Manchester United were assessing ahead of the summer window, alongside the likes of Harry Kane and Benjamin Sesko.
Osimhen has been on fine form for Napoli this season, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 15 Serie A games – contributing to Napoli’s 12-point lead at the top of the Italian table.
Erik ten Hag is looking for a striker to recruit in the summer after Cristiano Ronaldo had his contract terminated in November, causing United to bring in Wout Weghorst on a six-month loan deal to provide a temporary solution up front.
Speaking to Soccer News about the situation surrounding Osimhen and Manchester United, Di Marzio said Osimhen could be a target in the summer for the Red Devils.
“I think that Victor Osimhen could be a possible target in the summer also because Man United wanted him last summer,” explained Di Marzio.
“He has incredible skills and if Napoli wins the Serie A I think they will let him go.”
Di Marzio also mentioned that if United want to prise him away from Napoli, it would cost them at least €120 million, which would make him United’s most expensive signing ever.
“I think that Man United has to pay at least €120 million for him but the Premier League clubs are also willing to do that, so it could definitely happen,” he said.
“Manchester United wants him but other clubs wants him as well so he will very likely be the topic of the conversation for a lot of clubs next summer.”
It was recently reported that United had cooled their interest in Osimhen due to the cost it would require to bring him to the club, however with the news that Harry Kane is open to signing a new deal at Tottenham, they made be forced to revisit the situation later this year.
