Manchester United legend David Beckham wants one player to join his Inter Miami side this summer after his departure was confirmed.

Raphaël Varane spent three years at United after signing for the club from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021. He made 95 appearances for The Reds, including the FA Cup triumph last month.

It was confirmed that Varane would be leaving Old Trafford once his contract expires at the end of this month, and his next destination remains unknown.

A new report from The Mirror claims that David Beckham, who spent over a decade at United and now owns MLS club Inter Miami, wants to add Varane to his team of superstars.

It was added that the Frenchman has been ‘sounded out’ about joining Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in the United States next term.

Beckham believes that the addition of Varane would be a further boost to the profile of the Florida-based club.

Inter Miami are currently at the top of the MSL table after playing 20 games, with the conclusion of the season coming in October.

Varane was a fan-favourite at Old Trafford despite his injury troubles. The 30-year-old built a strong relationship with Lisandro Martínez in the 2022/23 campaign, which was once again successful at Wembley against Manchester City in May.

“It’s been an amazing few years to play for this special club and wearing that shirt,” Varane said. “The first time I went to Old Trafford as a Manchester United player was insane, the atmosphere was amazing.”

United have the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite and Leny Yoro on the shortlist as potential replacements for the Frenchman.
