Confirmed Match Officials: Manchester United vs Charlton Athletic (Carabao Cup quarter-final)

Manchester United are looking to get one step closer to Wembley as they face Charlton Athletic in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.
Erik ten Hag’s men are looking to end the club’s six-year trophy drought and have a favourable run to the semi-final of the cup competition.
They will be hosting the League One side at Old Trafford and it will likely include some rotation, with United facing Manchester City four days afterwards.
Despite the game being at the Theatre of Dreams, VAR will not be in use for the encounter. That will only be introduced if The Reds progress to the semi-finals.
A win could also mean that Ten Hag’s men have four extra fixtures in January after they also progressed to the FA Cup fourth-round and had their Premier League game against Crystal Palace rescheduled.
The full details on who will be taking charge of this upcoming fixture can be read below.
Match Referee
The referee in this cup fixture will be Jarred Gillett and it will be the Australian’s first time officiating a game including the Red Devils.
He was in charge of Arsenal’s shock exit against Brighton in the third-round of the competition.
Assistant Referees
Flanking the 36-year-old will be the pairing of Neil Davies and Marc Perry. They have assisted 36 games in the competition between them; an even 18 each.
With there being no VAR, they will be expected to be on their A-game, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho likely to make some runs in behind on the night.
Fourth Official
Meanwhile, alongside Ten Hag and Charlton manager Dean Holden on the touchline will be Thomas Bramall.
