Manchester United could have four extra fixtures added to their calendar this month after they progressed to the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Erik ten Hag’s men won 3-0 against Charlton Athletic in the quarter-finals of the competition on Tuesday evening. The Reds are on an eight-game winning run.

United also progressed to the fourth-round of the FA Cup after last Friday’s victory against Everton. They will be facing Championship side Reading next as they look to get one step closer towards silverware in Ten Hag’s first season.

Due to progression in the FA Cup, a rescheduled Premier League fixture and the latest progress into the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, The Reds could see themselves playing four extra games in January.

They were already set to face Manchester City and Arsenal later in the month in two important league bouts.

Crystal Palace (Premier League)

After being postponed due to the death of the Queen in September, the Premier League have finally confirmed the rescheduling for United’s away fixture against Crystal Palace.

Ten Hag’s men will be looking for three points at Selhurst Park on Wednesday the 18th of January, with kick-off at 20:00 GMT.

This will come in the middle of the matches against City (14th) and Arsenal (22nd).

Carabao Cup semi-final (first-leg)

United will be expecting to play the first leg of the League Cup encounter during the week commencing on Monday 23rd of January, with kick-off times yet to be confirmed.

The potential opponents include: Newcastle, Nottingham Forest or Wolves, Southampton or Manchester City

Reading (FA Cup fourth-round)

United’s fourth-round tie in the FA Cup against Reading will be played between the 27th and 30th of January. The timing for kick-offs are yet to be confirmed by the FA.

Should The Reds progress into the fifth-round of the competition, they will be playing that game at the end of February/beginning of March.

Carabao Cup semi-final (second-leg)

United will be returning for a second-leg tie in the Carabao Cup, where they could force their way into their first domestic final since 2018.

That fixture will be taking place in the week commencing on the 30th of January, so could move into February (United have a Premier League fixture vs Crystal Palace on February 4th).
