“Concrete steps…” – Sporting director reaches out to £43m-rated Man Utd star, it’s his ‘mission’ to sign him

Manchester United have been bombarded with rumours surrounding potential incoming strikers in the summer transfer window.

Victor Osimhen, Victor Gyokeres, Liam Delap and various other prominent goalscorers have all been linked to Manchester United as Ruben Amorim attempts to fix the goal scoring issue in the upcoming window.

United’s two primary forwards to lead the line this season have provided poorly, resulting in a slump 15th standing in the Premier League. Joshua Zirkzee has found the net three times in the league, while Rasmus Hojlund has scored four, an abysmal return heading into the final month of the season.

Zirkzee looked to have found a more suited role sitting a little bit deeper, which found him some form, before an injury against Newcastle ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Hojlund, on the other hand has been a frustrating watch and although sometimes puts in a selfless shift to help the team, the Dane is nowhere near ruthless enough to lead the line for United. This has sparked rumours that the 22-year-old is coming toward the end of his spell in Manchester.

Juventus initiate talks with Hojlund

United signed Hojlund for a initial £64 million that could eventually rise to £72 million from Atalanta in the summer of 2023.

It is growing evermore likely that the Danish forward may return to the Serie A, and according to Calciomercato, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has initiated initial contact in a potential deal for Hojlund.

That report has explained that Juventus have began their ‘mission’ to sign Hojlund with these concrete steps after their initial research into the player.

Reports elsewhere have suggested that United would require around £43 million to sell Hojlund, although it is possible that a loan deal is sought after if no one can match that price tag.

Hojlund has had turbulent start at United

United fans were teased with Hojlund’s potential early last season when the striker netted five times in the Champions League group stages under Erik ten Hag.

Hojlund would have to wait until late December to find his first Premier League goal and never replicated his European competition form.

Now with the switch of manager, fans are yet to see the brilliance of Hojlund. It is clear and obvious that he is still only a young forward at the early stages of his career.

However, fans are frustrated at the lack of consistency from Hojlund ,and there’s a sense that it wouldn’t be the the end of the world if he was to move on, with those supporters eager to see a replacement brought in this summer transfer window.
