Casemiro’s favourite Premier League goal is one Manchester United fans will love
Casemiro has chosen Wayne Rooney’s unforgettably stunning overhead kick against Manchester City back in 2011 as his favourite Premier League goal of all time.
Casemiro has quickly become a fan favourite since joining Manchester United from Real Madrid in the summer for £60 million which now looks like the bargain and up there amongst the signings of the season.
The Brazilian defensive stopper quickly found himself in United fans’ good books due to his passion and intrinsic understanding of what it means to be a player for the Red Devils.

With the Manchester derby looming, the two arch rivals are competing in the early kick-off tomorrow, the incredible No.18 has been speaking about some of his favourite Premier League moments.
Although a newcomer to the Premier League, Casemiro certainly knows his stuff when it comes to the competition, as he was asked to picked his favourite goal.
“There are a lot of beautiful goals in the Premier League,” Casemiro stated. “As it’s the derby this weekend, I’m going to go with Wayne Rooney’s goal from 2011.”
A moment that many Manchester United fans will never forget, Nani’s wicked whipped cross found a fearless and acrobatic Rooney who emphatically volleyed the ball into the top corner, much to a helpless Joe Hart’s disliking.
Now, he is certainly not alone with this opinion as in 2012, to commemorate 20 seasons of the Premier League, fans voted Rooney’s overhead kick as the league’s best goal ever.

With 26% of the overall voting, Manchester United’s all-time record goal scorer was the clear winner, beating Dennis Bergkamp’s mesmerising touch, turn and finish against Newcastle in 2002 which had 19% of the vote and Thierry Henry’s spectacular flick and fully against United in 2000, the choice of 15% of the voters.
The overhead kick, arguably Wayne Rooney’s most famous goal, was key to United beating Manchester City to claim a 19th league title, a fact Casemiro knew all too well.
His enthusiasm for the history of the club is exactly what the fans love to see and it is obvious that Casemiro wears the shirt with pride and would die for the badge something that will be needed for tomorrow’s game.
