Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has sent a message to injured teammate Lisandro Martínez after his latest setback.

Martínez, 26, suffered another injury last time out for United as they beat West Ham 3-0 on Sunday. He sustained a knee injury and is expected back after the March international break.

The Argentine defender only played a handful of games since his original return from a foot injury but quickly showed his importance to Erik ten Hag’s backline.

Casemiro, who also recently returned from injury, has sent his support to Martínez through Instagram.

“You will be back soon. Stay strong, Licha,” the Brazilian midfielder wrote.

Meanwhile, fellow Argentine Alejandro Garnacho has set a goal record for himself to reach as United approach the latter stages of the season.

The 19-year-old has scored four goals in five games since moving across to the right wing. He has also created over 20 chances for his teammates in those fixtures.

Whilst Garnacho has assured that scoring goals is not his main focus, with the winger keen to work alongside the likes of Rasmus Højlund and Marcus Rashford, he does believe that he can notch a few more in before the season closes.

“I am always trying to help the team by either scoring or assisting,” stated the winger, who celebrated like his idol Cristiano Ronaldo at the weekend.

“I don’t care if Rasmus or Rashford score, we have to win and we have to be in the top six again.

“Hopefully, you know, [I could get] 10, 12 goals?”
