Casemiro hits back at critics, pointing out Manchester United player change that’s helped his form
Casemiro has hit back at critics who have harshly judged his Manchester United season so far after a fantastic Premier League display against Leicester City.
Ruud van Nistelrooy concluded his interim spell as Manchester United manager on a high note, guiding his side to a 3-0 victory over Leicester City, with Bruno Fernandes playing a starring role.
Fernandes opened the scoring with a clinical finish from the edge of the box, courtesy of a clever backheel pass from Amad Diallo.

The captain struck again just before half-time, as his header took a deflection off Victor Kristiansen’s knee to double United’s lead.
In the final minutes, Alejandro Garnacho capped off the night with a brilliant curling effort to make it three, with Fernandes once more the provider. Manuel Ugarte and Amad Diallo were also exceptional, delivering standout performances that contributed to a dominant team display.
Casemiro hits back
After another fantastic display under Van Nistelrooy, United midfielder Casemiro hit back at those who have criticised him, laying out that he feels bar one performance against Liverpool, he has been on good form for the club.
“Well, everyone can see can’t they? I only had the Liverpool game, right? The whole team was not good in that game,” he explained after the game.
“But individually, of course when the goals are missed, of course it ends up hurting the team more, but I think it’s been a good season for me.
“I want to continue growing, I want to continue helping my team-mates and the coach, helping Manchester United grow and well, everyone knows what my job is.”
Special praise for Manuel Ugarte
Further, Casemiro has expanded on the relationship he has built with new signing Manuel Ugarte, who has recently broken into the side after a mixed start to life at Old Trafford.
“I have a good connection with him,” the Brazilian continued. “When one goes forward, the other covers, and vice versa. That is how it has to be, one compliments the other. I think the other games have been like this.
“He is a great person. Then, little by little he is also showing that he is a national team player from Uruguay, from a team that has good players. Then he has total respect, not only mine, but all the players.
“And well, it is good for us to have good players, so we have a much better squad.”
