Casemiro and Erik ten Hag have agreed on Manchester United summer transfer
Casemiro and Erik ten Hag appear to be in agreement in relation to a move away from Manchester United this summer for the Brazillian midfielder.
Reports from last week claimed that Erik ten Hag would not stand in the way of Casemiro should he wish to leave Manchester United this summer.
It was said that Ten Hag was not opposed to the move as it would open up the opportunity for the Old Trafford club to sign Frenkie de Jong, who, if reports are to be believed, is back on the market two years after the Dutchman tried to sign him.
Casemiro signed for United in the same summer for a fee believed to be around £60 million from Real Madrid. However, many feel that he is losing his legs and may not be able to keep up with Premier League demands next campaign – hence why Ten Hag is open to the sale.
And now, according to Spanish outlet Relevo, Casemiro is open to a move away, with a transfer to Saudi Arabia “on his mind”.
The report explains that United had an offer for Casemiro from Saudi Arabia last summer that closely resembled the fee they paid for him in 2022, and although that was denied at the time, it may not be this time around.
There “are doubts” as to whether Casemiro is part of INEOS’ plans to regenerate Manchester United in the coming years, and as Sir Jim Ratcliffe needs to raise funds in order to secure new signings this summer, Casemiro may be at the top of the list of sellable assets.
Ratcliffe had his 27.7 per cent stake in United confirmed on Tuesday evening, meaning he now has full access to chop and change the club’s sporting side.
