Bruno Fernandes told Alejandro Garnacho two important things after Man United fan incident
Bruno Fernandes told Alejandro Garnacho two important things after an incident with a Manchester United fan earlier this week.
Before the Europa League game against PAOK on Thursday, a clip went viral on social media of a fan recording Alejandro Garnacho as he was signing shirts and taking pictures with other United supporters.
The individual told Garnacho to pass better, score a goal and ‘work on your first touch’. The United starlet responded, ‘Why are you not playing?’.
Garnacho now has 11 goal contributions this season, which is the most in the United squad and more than Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid.
After scoring a screamer in the 3-0 win against Leicester City on the weekend, he did not celebrate the goal.
Bruno explains what he told Garnacho
Bruno Fernandes provided support for Garnacho after full-time and stated that the 20-year-old feels like he had lost faith from some supporters.
The United captain, who has been through it all before, was able to give the young winger two important pieces of advice.
He told Garnacho that certain fans will always moan but there are a lot of people who will continue supporting him.
The 30-year-old also urged him to continue celebrating his goals and that he will keep being a difference maker at the club.
“It was a good day at work, I have to say. We have a lot of players with big qualities, but people can get too excited after one game and too down after another,” Bruno told the BBC.
“Garnacho scored a banger but didn’t celebrate like he should because he thinks he has lost faith from some fans. I told him people will always moan but lots of people like you and enjoy what you do.
“I told him to celebrate, it was something special. He is a special player, we have difference makers. They are the ones who win us games. We want them to score every game but that isn’t going to happen.”
