Leny Yoro delivers perfect Kylian Mbappe answer, it will leave Man United fans stunned
Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has spoken about his battles with Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe during their time in Ligue 1.
The new United defender made his unofficial debut for the club on Saturday as he started against Scottish side Rangers and impressed quickly.
Despite having trained with the squad just once, Yoro looked comfortable in the team during the first half.
The young defender seems to ooze confidence on and off the ball – it was best shown when he made a last-gasp tackle to stop Rangers from scoring, but he never looked to break a sweat during the play.
His experience in Ligue 1 would have certainly helped in this aspect. He started 40 games for Lille last season and also matched up against Kylian Mbappe.
When asked who his favourite opponent has been so far, Yoro was quick to say the former Paris Saint-Germain star.
“I really liked to play against, of course, Mbappe. It was a really big, big, big deal and it helped me a lot to improve myself.
“And it was good against Ollie Watkins (as well), because this is a big striker there. It was good.”
Despite the new Real Madrid man scoring in the clash against Lille last season, Yoro worked very well against him and clearly learned some important things from that encounter.
United fans might be used to young stars having confidence, such as Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, but even this may surprise them.
At 18 years of age, Yoro is already keen to battle against the very best in the game, and he will certainly get the chance to do that in the Premier League with United.
