Manchester United have delivered injury updates on seven players, with Bruno Fernandes a doubt as Erik ten Hag faces Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Manchester United are contending with mixed injury news as Erik ten Hag considers his options ahead of a trip to London to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday evening.

At the turn of 2024, multiple United players, such as Mason Mount, Lisandro Martínez, and Casemiro, returned from long-term injury problems, but a fresh wave of issues has rendered the club depleted in defence.

United have been hit with a multitude of problems in defence. Six of the club’s seven first-team centre-backs are unavailable to play, and in their last fixture, Scott McTominay also had to leave the field with a problem.

“Scott [McTominay] didn’t train so far this week but I expect him back in training on Saturday,” Ten Hag said at his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon. “Then we will have to see up to the game if he is 100 per cent available or for [only] a part in the game.”

Beyond this, the manager also confirmed that Bruno Fernandes, who has never missed a United game through injury, is a doubt.

“Then also, after the game, we had an issue with Bruno so he is a doubt for Monday, but he will fight to be a part of this game, as we know with Bruno. Never rule him out for any game and he is giving his best to be available.”

Further reports from reliable X account INSIDERUTD1 has now revealed that the club captain has been suffering with an ankle issue “for a while” and has been playing through pain.

Fernandes was also spotted with his right wrist in a protective cast on Friday, two weeks after he broke his hand against Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final.

Beyond this, Ten Hag explained that Jonny Evans and Anthony Martial are now back in training, although he did not confirm if they would be involved against Crystal Palace.

“Jonny Evans returned today in the team training, and tomorrow, we will see if it is enough before the two days before the game,” he said. “Anthony was partly in the team training.”

Finally, the fifth update is surrounding Marcus Rashford, where the Dutchman confirmed that a problem he suffered against Coventry still has not healed.

“His issue after Coventry hasn’t healed,” the boss added on Rashford. “I can’t tell (you) when he will be back in training.”
