BREAKING: Sheikh Jassim’s 92 foundation officially registered in UK
Sheikh Jassim’s 92 foundation has been officially registered in the United Kingdom ahead of a potential acquisition of Manchester United Football Club.
The Gov.com website shows “Nine Two UK Holdings Limited” having been incorporated on the 15 June 2023.
Alongside Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani listed as director is Abdulrahman Abdulla Al-Ansari.
The 41-year-old Qatari has been in a bidding war against British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe to replace the Glazer family at Old Trafford. The American family took over United in 2005 through a highly leveraged takeover which unloaded debt onto the club, a strategy that the Premier League have only recently banned in their rulebook.
Rio Ferdinand revealed on Thursday afternoon that ‘a good source’ has told him that Sheikh Jassim has won the battle.
Whilst the registration is not total confirmation of a deal – as Ben Jacobs said: “The paperwork sent for Nine Two UK Holdings Limited was sent to Companies House months ago” – it still seems to suggest confidence in the Qatari camp.
