New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim ‘really likes’ three players he is inheriting at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim officially began his tenure as Manchester United head coach last week and is now gearing up for his first match in charge next weekend.

United are set to face Ipswich Town in the Premier League, kicking off a challenging winter schedule that includes tough fixtures against Manchester City and Arsenal.

Currently sitting 13th in the league, Amorim will aim to improve both the team’s style of play and their position in the table, with just four points separating them from the top four.

As crucial months approach in both the Premier League and cup competitions, Amorim is expected to evaluate the squad thoroughly to determine his strongest lineup.

While he will need to learn about members of the team, Amorim will also be aware of the talents of several players and be excited to work with them.

According to journalist Graeme Bailey, the Portuguese boss is a ‘big fan’ of Marcus Rashford, with recent reports claiming that the no.10 could be moved back upfront in his new 3-4-3 formation.

“Amorim really likes Rashford,” Bailey told UnitedInFocus. “I did hear was he has always been a big fan of Marcus Rashford so we will see.”

Meanwhile, the reporter added that the 39-year-old coach is also looking forward to reuniting with Manuel Ugarte, as well as developing the talented Leny Yoro.

“I’ve heard Ugarte is one he has always really admired and likes a lot,” he added. I’ve heard Leny Yoro as well is a player he does like.

“Those are three he has admired from afar over the last few years.”

It is no surprise to hear that Amorim is keen to work with Ugarte after experiencing success with the midfielder during their time together at Sporting.

Yoro is also one of the only defenders in the squad who fits perfectly into how Amorim wants his defenders to play both in and out of possession.

Rashford has experienced difficulties in the last 12 months but it seems that the new boss is eager to help the Englishman find the form he showed during the 2022/23 campaign.
