Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat’s future is reportedly yet to be decided after the club’s season ended.

Amrabat, who has made 30 appearances in all competition for United, has struggled to cement his place in Erik ten Hag’s starting XI.

However, over the last month, the midfielder has put together several impressive performances, including against Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Morrocan international’s next move still hangs in the balance, with the question marks surrounding United’s managerial position stopping a decision from being made.

“Sofyan Amrabat had a good game for United and spoke afterwards to hint that he could still end up staying at the club. However, my understanding is that nothing has been communicated to Fiorentina or the player side yet.

“It will depend also on the manager situation, so it will be part of the review that Man United will do this week. In January, Juventus and Barcelona were interested, but Man United never opened doors for Amrabat to leave.”

Romano’s report comes just days after Amrabat admitted to Dutch outlet Ziggo Sport that he would love to stay in Manchester permanently.

“Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No. We are going to talk,” Amrabat admitted. Staying is certainly an option. Look, I think it has been a very difficult season. For Manchester United, it needs to be much better, and also for me personally.

“Manchester United are the biggest club in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here?”

Arriving on a one-season loan in the summer of last year, Amrabat’s loan came at a cost of £8.5 million. With that deal, United also agreed to add an option to buy the 27-year-old, with that deal costing £21.4 million.
