Ayden Heaven has dropped a three-word injury update that will delight Rúben Amorim following Manchester United’s latest defensive blow.
The last few months have seen Manchester United hit with a plethora of injury problems that have prevented Rúben Amorim from creating a stable environment.
At the turn of the new year, United finally looked like they were settling into a rhythm and good starting XI, but in mid-February, that all changed.
Lisandro Martínez suffered a knee injury that will keep him out until November, while Kobbie Mainoo and Amad were ruled out shortly after, with a series of other problems leaving Amorim needing to select eight Academy players on the bench against Tottenham Hotspur.
However, in the last few weeks, those such as Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Harry Maguire have all returned to training, with Mainoo also close to fitness.
Amorim confirms fresh injury blow
Ahead of the Manchester derby, Amorim was asked to provide a fitness update on a number of players.
The head coach confirmed that Mainoo was close to returning to action but stated they may be suffering from an injury blow with Matthijs de Ligt potentially unavailable for selection.
“I think Kobbie is returning to training, so we’ll see and assess for this game already,” said the head coach. “Of course, he cannot play a full game, he’s a long time without training.
“I think Matta [de Ligt] has an issue. He has something during the game [at Forest] and we have to assess. I think the rest is normal.”
In a separate interview, he also confirmed that Amad is continuing to recover well from his ankle injury, with the club hopeful he can play again before the end of the season.
Heaven issues fresh injury update
While United have seen several defenders return to action in the last two weeks, one man who has not trained is Ayden Heaven.
The 18-year-old centre-back was fantastic during his opening few appearances for the Reds, but he suffered a horrid ankle injury against Leicster City just before the international break that left many worried he could be out for the season.

However, Amorim confirmed that the player would instead only be out for a few weeks rather than for the initially anticipated few months.
Now, amid the need for new centre-backs, Heaven uploaded an update onto his Instagram page where he stated to fans he would be “back soon” ahead of the final months of the campaign.
Heaven’s pending return will delight Amorim, considering the confirmation that De Ligt could be out of action.
With Maguire, Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui, and Victor Lindelöf now available for selection and both Heaven, Luke Shaw, and De Ligt soon to be available again, Amorim will be able to rotate his centre-backs and keep his defenders fit ahead of a grueling set of fixtures.
