Arda Guler to Manchester United: Rúben Amorim’s club “willing to pay” stunning fee for Real Madrid star

Manchester United have registered their interest in Real Madrid star Arda Guler, with reports indicating that United are “willing to pay” a stunning fee for his services.

In January, Ruben Amorim was allowed to make just two transfers to improve his team, with Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu and Ayden Heaven joining for small fees.

Many have said that Amorim can’t be judged until he has several new signings that fit his system, especially with both Dorgu and Heaven having impressed since their arrival.

While several players have adapted well to the 3-4-3 system, Amad and Bruno Fernandes being the two best examples, bringing in new players who don’t need to adapt to the tactics will massively help Manchester United.

It is clear new players are needed across the pitch, but a specialist number 10 behind the striker could benefit Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, who have both failed to deliver when playing as the centre-forward.

United register interest in Guler

As per Spanish reports, “United’s interest has to come to light” for Real Madrid talent Arda Guler, with the Red Devils “willing to pay” close to a stunning £51 million this summer.

Guler first burst onto the scene in 2022 when he became Fenerbache’s youngest-ever goalscorer at just 17 years old and 21 days.

Since then, he has impressed in the European Championships for Turkey, but he hasn’t yet shown his quality for Real Madrid.

Three separate injuries have kept him out for 29 games for the Spanish giants. However, this season, he has been largely available and has played 21 games but only 774 minutes.

Guler will be looking for more game time to show his quality to the world yet again; a move to Manchester could be his best option.

Where would Guler fit in for United?

The 20-year-old is perfectly suited to one of the two number 10 positions in Amorim’s United team, playing alongside Fernandes behind Hojlund or Zirkzee.

Guler is left-footed and therefore would provide balance to United’s frontline, with every other attacking midfield option bar Amad being right-footed.

His experience as a right winger and attacking midfielder makes him the ideal profile for the right-sided number 10, allowing Amad to drop back to right-wing-back.

A front five of Dorgu, Fernandes, Højlund, Guler and Amad could finally stop United’s worryingly poor run in front of the goal, with three very creative players behind the striker.
